willheublein: The Chemosphere, a modernist house build in 1960 in Los Angeles, was designed by John Lautner. Lautner, who had worked with Frank Lloyd Wright, designed a number of distinctively futuristic LA-area buildings. The exterior of the Chemosphere is immediately striking, but Lautner’s aesthetic is also evident in his interiors, particularly in the forms of  the curved wood beam systems.
